Join Us
: If you are new to this area and are looking
for a church home, we invite you to join us. If you are
not currently an active member of a church or if you
have never belonged to a church, consider making
your home here. If you are interested in becoming a
part of a diverse family with a common faith that reaches
out to each other and to all of God's children, join us. If
you seek a community that is committed to worshiping
God and to understanding God's calling, and that does not
ask you to check your brain at the door, stay with us for a
while: you may already be home. And if you have no idea what
you are looking for, you are welcome to search among us. Join us
as we journey together, living our way into the realm of God.
Education
Christian education is available for all ages at St. Peter's (Sept. - June).
Church School
offers a wonderful experience for children. The curriculum involves a lesson on a story from The Bible, some type of supporting arts & craft activity, and often music. St. Peter's children are also committed to outreach, both global and local. Periodic skits or musical performances during the service round out the experience. Church School is open to all children ages 4 to 16 without regard to the families' church membership. All are welcome to join us Sundays at 9:00 a.m.
Children's Chapel
is conducted during the 10:15 a.m. service for all school-age children who wish to participate. Here, a children's service is celebrated in an informal but structured setting until it is time to join the rest of the congregation for Communion.
Adult Education
is held at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Hall and includes a mix of Bible study and "hot topic" forum.
Fellowship
The Parish calendar is always filled with plenty of opportunities to enjoy each others' company through weekly Coffee Hours, five monthly movie series, quarterly Potlucks, and other special events such as Advent wreath-making and Mothering Sunday. Visit the "Please Consider" page for more information, and be sure to keep up-to-date with all our Movie Ministries.
Spirituality
St. Peter's Church is committed to feeding our spiritual journeys through periodic pilgrimages as well as in-church events such as the Labyrinth. The calendar on "Please Consider" will inform you of upcoming events.
St. Peter's Haven & Community Pantry
The Haven
provides shelter and support for homeless families. Through the work of staff and volunteers, the program empowers families to become self-sufficient and enables them to escape the trap of homelessness. Our families live in a house on the church property or in one of two apartments at Ella's House, our residence on Burgess Place. The Haven also provides case management, parenting classes, respite care, and health education for our resident families served through the Pantry.
The Pantry
serves over 550 residents of Passaic County each month. Food is contributed by members of the parish family, by friends and neighbors in Clifton, and by churches and other organizations throughout the county.
*To learn how you can help with the Haven's ministry by volunteering, please see the "Participate" page.
